My work experience actually
starts in Junior High School. When I was in the 8th grade I took a woodworking class and fell in love with making
things out of wood. As I went through high school my knowledge and experience in woodworking and cabinetry expanded.
Next, I gained a variety of carpentry skills by helping to remodel our family home. I found that I really enjoyed making
improvements to homes and was even asked to work on many neighbors’ houses during that time. After high school I enlisted
in the U.S. Military, where I learned a lot about discipline and service. When I finished my enlistment and transferred
to the Air National Guard, I found a job working in a leading cabinet shop building face frames, doors and drawers. In the
past 10 years I have done numerous home improvement jobs for family, friends and others who have seen my work. I have always
enjoyed the satisfaction of making something better
My plan for a successful
business started with many years of working side jobs where each customer and each job was unique. I have developed a
unique set of skills that range from fixing broken chairs to remodeling bathrooms, and over time I have grown to enjoy pleasing
the customer. I have also been involved with my brother's successful cabinet shop
Allen Campbell Woodworking
[209-823-1179].
Most cabinet shops in the local area focus
on full kitchens and larger jobs, turning away the custom audio/video cabinet market. I believe that this market
can be very successful.
I can reduce overhead and decrease build time by setting
up a shop specifically for the manufacture of these custom cabinets, while providing a start-to-finish service ensuring the
utmost in customer satisfaction. My experience tells me that people appreciate working one-on-one with the builder and truly
enjoy the feeling of participation in the process. Each cabinet is unique, just like the customer.
I plan to incorporate
working with youth. I would like to give young teens an opportunity to learn a good work ethic and expand their interest
toward wood working in general. I have always worked with the elderly and have set a goal to do at least one charitable
chore each month. I have had many opportunities and want to give something back to the local community.
Currently, I am training to become a Community Emergency Response Team volunteer. In 2005 I retired from the
Air force after 22 years and have served in places all over the world including
Japan,
Turkey,
Kuwait,
and
Iraq. To show appreciation
for those who have served, I will provide a preference to veterans. My main focus is to continually
strive toward building a business based on integrity, trustworthiness, equality, and a sense of community.
